I can’t listen to the Matilda soundtrack without thinking of Julia. Sami and I were singing along to it in the car last week. I hope Lucy loves music like her sister.

The idea of wearing something to show your grief or identity resonates with me. Especially when the girls were younger and I was out without them, I felt this need to wear a badge that said “I’m a mom. I have babies at home.” Instead I found myself working it into the conversation with the cashier at Trader Joe’s. “What do you have planned for the rest of the day?” Was always answered with something like, “I get to go home and make dinner for my daughter and put her to bed.”

Praying the people you connect with can match your energy and are willing to lean into your story, even if it feels like more than they can carry in the moment, because I know they will graciously be met by someone who has been carried by our Savior.

Thank you, Lisa! Yes Matilda is still one I can’t get myself to listen to yet. Who knew that would be so special? Totally relate to that Trader Joe’s feeling. 🧡

I love hearing about Julia. And everytime I hear about Lucy Mei and see her I also see Julia. I know this month carries a lot for you. Will be praying God holds you and carries you.
