A Chat with Jesus about Heaven
Recently my prayers to Jesus have felt like simple conversations between a parent and child. I'm sharing these prayers with you, not as a prophetic word about what heaven is really like (only God knows for sure), but as a snapshot of how sweetly Jesus interacts with imagination, theology, and our hearts:
Jesus, what's Julia doing in heaven right now?
  It's 8pm, she's sleeping.
There's sleep in heaven?
Of course! It's one of my greatest inventions!
And Julia is still on her schedule?
Yep, you did a great job with that.
(Next day)
What's Julia doing now?
  We're going to the store.
The store? There are stores in heaven?
We're going to the candle store.
The candle store?
We're going to smell as many smells as we can.
Well now you're just telling me everything we did here, I must be making this up.
Of course we are doing what you did! Who do you think gave you that idea to go smell candles with Julia? I taught you those things, Kel.
(Later)
God, is Julia with you ALL the time? You have so many people to care for.
Yep, she's got me all the time.
But how do you do that for everyone?
Aren't I talking to you right now?
But how?
  I'm bigger than you.
